About

Deer Fern Designs came about because of my constant need to be creating. I began making jewelry from a young age, from beaded bracelets and necklaces to then working with semi-precious gemstones.

I have always spent my free time working with my hands, crocheting, knitting, beading, drawing and even throwing pottery. So after taking a beginner metalsmithing class, I dove in head first and set up a small metalsmithing studio in my garage. One thing lead to another and I decided I would cut my own stones. From there, Deer Fern Designs was born. Most of the stones you see here, I slabbed, cut and polished myself.

I create adornments with longevity in mind, using only fine and sterling silver and jeweler's brass, with the hopes that these pieces will become family heirlooms.

When I'm not smithing or working in the lapidary studio, you can find me trail running, baking, gardening, biking and most definitely snuggling with my two rescue dogs, Douglas Fur and Merl.

Thanks for being here!
